Even though the conditions weren’t the greatest in Coney Island the Brooklyn Cyclones (1-5) and Asheville Tourists (4-2) at least were able to get the full nine innings in, as the Cyclones continue to try to find the right formula in Coney Island.
The folks in Coney Island got to see a first as DH Nolan McLean became the first two-way player in franchise history, and he was able to make an impact with his bat by blasting his first home run of the season during the course of the game.
Asheville saw a stellar performance from RHP Edinson Batista as he went five innings and keeping the Cyclones bats quiet for the most part.
There were some bright spots for the Cyclones as Pitcher Douglas Orellana went four hitless innings and fanning six batters.
