After what was a thrilling 2023 NWSL Season where Gotham FC was crowned as the new NWSL Champions, all the work, effort and sacrifice the ladies put onto the field the franchise is going to be rewarded with a homecoming this coming Sunday at Red Bull Arena.
Gotham FC is going to not only host the Kansas City Current, but the franchise is going to get to celebrate winning the 2023 NWSL Championship with the banner raising and ring ceremony.
There are going to be a ton of VIPs and guests that are going to be slated to be at Red Bull Arena on Sunday. Scheduled to appear is going to be Robin Arzon, VP of Fitness Programming and Head Instructor at Peloton, Soccer Icon Ali Krieger and Two-Time Super Bowl MVP and Gotham FC co-owner Eli Manning.
Fans in attendance on Sunday are going to be in for a treat as Gotham FC is not only going to be giving away Krieger Bobbleheads, but she is going to be meeting and greeting with fans prior to the start of the action.
When it comes time for the action on the field, this is going to be the first time that Kansas City and Gotham went face-to-face since clinching a playoff spot.
Thus far Kansas City is looking great to start the 2024 NWSL season as they have won all three of the games they played thus far.
As for Gotham FC the ladies are looking to rebound after a tough 1-0 loss on the road to the North Carolina Courage.
The ladies though are showing some exciting style of play though and are hoping to show just that on Sunday as they officially open up the 2024 NWSL season at Red Bull Arena against the Kansas City Current with the start of the match scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
