Close Call in the Bronx as Fordham falls to Tulane 89-81

In what was a physical game at Rose Hill Gym the Fordham University (4-4) fell to Tulane University (6-1) in NCAA Men’s Basketball action on Sunday.

Gaining some great experience in only eight games into the season, going up against a team like Tulane is going to be something that pays off big time for the Rams as they head into Atlantic 10 play.

There were a ton of positive points for Fordham University as some of the impressive team numbers included 30 points in the paint, 16 second chance points, 16 fast break points along with keeping the game tight by tying the game nine times.

In addition, the Rams saw six players in double figure scoring as they were led by Antrell Charlton as he had 18 points on 8-for-13 field goals along with six rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block.

Will Richardson distributed the ball well in addition to being the second leading scorer with his 16 points. Joshua Rivera and Abdou Tsimbila both played quality minutes in the low post position as they both finished the game with 13 points each, and Kyle Rose showed some impressive shooting with his 11 points and six assists.

As for Tulane the tough and physical team were able to not only stay in the game but ultimately found the shots they needed to win, as they saw five players in double figure scoring. Leading the way for the Green Wave is Collin Holloway with his 26 points, five rebounds, three blocks and two steals.

Jaylen Forbes had himself an impressive showing with his 18 points and Kolby King finished the game with 14 points. Also impressing during the afternoon are Tre’ Williams with his 13 points and Sion James with his 12 points.

Up next for the Rams is going to be a Metropolitan Area showdown against NJIT on Wednesday, December 6 with the tip at Rose Hill Gym being scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
