It was aback in the New York Groove for the New York Liberty as the ladies kept their 2023 WNBA Championship hopes alive with a huge Game 3 victory against the Las Vegas Aces, with the final score of 87-73 in WNBA action on Sunday.
Playing in front of a rocking record-breaking crowd of 17,143 at the Barclays Center the ladies stepped it up in the biggest way possible, as there is going to be a Game 4 being played on Wednesday.
With the victory the New York Liberty were able to get their first Finals victory since the incredible half-court shot by Teresa Weatherspoon in Game 2 of the 1999 WNBA Finals, along with the Game 3 victory being the first Finals win at home in franchise history.
There was some tremendous shooting shown in Brooklyn, as the team went 52% (33-63) shooting from the field, 43.3% (13-30) from three, and 50% (8-16) from the free throw line.
The team also tied a franchise postseason record, along with tying the third most three-point makes in a Finals game in WNBA history with 13.

Leading the way for New York is Jonquel Jones as she scored a team-high 27 points on 66.7% (10-15) shooting from the field, that included 57.1% (4-7) from deep, eight rebounds, three assists, and three blocks.
Also impressing is Breanna Stewart as she scored 20 points on 50% (8-16) shooting from the field, along with a game-high 12 rebounds, four assists and two blocks. This makes the 10th postseason double-double for Stewie.
The team also saw Betnijah Laney and Courtney Vandersloot finishing with 12 points each.
The nerves and excitement continue to build as Game 4 of the WNBA Finals is going to take place on Wednesday, October 18 at 8:00 p.m. at the Barclays Center. Fans wanting to catch the action can do so by checking out the ESPN Network.
