Countdown is on for Mystics as they face tough test in Aces on Saturday

The Mystics have seven games left to see if they can land in one of the coveted spots in the 2023 WNBA Playoff Chase and have one of the toughest tests of the season upcoming. On Saturday, August 26 the ladies are going to go up against WNBA Super Team the Las Vegas Aces in an intriguing game to be played at 7:00 p.m.

In the team’s last game against Connecticut, the ladies got themselves so close to looking like a team that is going to the playoffs. Especially in the Fourth Quater of play, as the team as a whole was able to shut down the Sun’s offense to 10 points.

That is something that is an encouraging sign to Head Coach Eric Thibault as the Mystics have prided themselves on their defensive play all season long.

The other bit of good news is the fact that the starters that have been injured for most of the season continue to heal and get themselves back on the court.

Thus far the team has been led by the duo of Brittney Sykes with her 15.3 points per game, and Natasha Cloud with her 5.7 assist per game.

First Year WNBA Sensation Li Meng has also been exciting to watch, as she leads all rookies in total three-pointers made.

Meng along with Coach E shared these thoughts with the Washington D.C. media after the team’s practice session on 8/25/23…. Video is compliments of the Washington Mystics:

The game on Saturday though is going to be the toughest test of the year for the ladies, as the Aces have been one of the team’s that has lived up to the name of ‘Super Team.’

Thus far leading the way is A’ja Wilson as she has 22.1 points per game along with an 54.3 field goal percentage and Chelsea Gray with her 7.3 assists per game.

With a ton of excitement surrounding the team all of the hype leads up to this Saturday as the Washington Mystics take on the Las Vegas Aces in WNBA action with the start of the game set for 7:00 p.m.
