NYCFC connects to Nature with new first ever ‘The Parks Kit’

One of the things that New York City FC has prided themselves on is connecting with the community members in the New York Area. Anything that they have done with their marketing campaigns, and as a team as a whole has revolved around the city of New York.

In the latest nod to the city of New York and the continuing efforts to connect with the community New York City FC unveiled the first-ever third kit, titled ‘The Parks Kit,’ in an announcement unveiled on Wednesday.

The kit is an homage and to celebrate the City’s parks and the important part that is played in teh sport of soccer.

For many the parks are the place where many found their love of soccer, it is the place where people spend countless hours and minutes practicing the sport and perfecting the craft.

Not only that but the parks are the place where people go to gather as a community, to interact with others and to enjoy the beauty of nature.

According to the press conference sent out by the team on Wednesday, “The parks are the metaphoric and literal lungs of the City, providing critical clean air and places to relax and play in the City That Never Sleeps. It’s where many people learn, apply and hone their soccer skills on a daily basis.”

The kit featuring green coloring along with white accents that showcase the NYC Parks that are seen all throughout the boroughs. In a cool touch on the new kit, the uniform features a The jock tag detail proudly displays the iconic NYC Parks Department “Parks Mark,” while the back neck features a design inspired by the floral patterns of Central Park’s Bethesda Arcade and fountain. The kit is made out of 100% Recycled Polyester (PES).

“The Parks are a great representation of New York City itself. On any given day, you’ll see people from all different backgrounds coming together to enjoy them,” said New York City FC midfielder Keaton Parks on the new uniform. “Playing soccer or other sports or hanging out with their friends and family.

“Our parks are a place for everyone, and I’m honored to wear a kit that celebrates this commonality for New Yorkers.”

“New York City Football Club has been a longstanding partner of NYC Parks, helping to create brand new soccer pitches for New Yorkers, and I’m excited to join them once again to reveal our latest collaboration – the first-ever Parks jersey,” said NYC Parks Commissioner Sue Donoghue. “Our public parks are important oases providing all groups of people, sport teams and other patrons with healthy greenspaces to connect with their environments. We’re proud of this latest collaboration with NYCFC, and we look forward to giving New Yorkers yet another chance to show their NYC Parks pride.”

The Boys in Blue are going to next be in action on August 20 as they take on Minnesota in MLS action at Citi Field, with the kick-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
