The Major League Baseball All -Star Game is where pitchers are selected by managers, starting outfielders by fans and the reserves are selected by managers and players. After much debating and tallying the big game is finally here MLB fans.
One of the players, being voted in by the fans for the 2023 edition set in Seattle in Aaron Judge, thought of as one of MLB’s biggest starts in addition to being the captain fo the New York Yankees is out due to a toe injury.
Judge has been healing up what was an awful collision in the outfield since June during the regular season will miss the midsummer classic. One of the leaders both on and off the field for the Bronx Bombers, has captured the imagination of fans everywhere.
The ballot box numbers were overwhelming in favor of Aaron being able to play and this year would have made Judges fifth year playing in the MLB All-Star Game as he was picked as the starting outfielder for the upcoming game.
With Judge deciding to opt out to make sure he is better to play with his team for the rest of the season Wander Franco the shortstop of the Tampa Bay Rays is going to take his place.
Franco holding the nickname of “El Patron” and hailing from the Dominican, is going to make his first MLB All-Star Appearance. At the tender age of 22, Franco has 90 hits under his belt leading player for the Rays.
Franco has already made franchise history being the youngest players on the Rays to have a multi-homer game in 2022. It’s a beautiful year for Wander, as he is on his way to receive $896,755, out of the 50-million-dollar bonus pool due to his regular season statistics.
For those Yankees fans, it’s sad to see Judge not being able to play in the All-Star Game. Judge is one of the players you look forward to seeing on the Field.
Aaron always plays the game the right way, hustling after every baseball in the outfield, making incredible defensive grabs. Not only that but during the 2022 season Judge had the most home runs in a season which led him to break the 61-year-old record held by Roger Maris. Judge also for the title of the most valuable player in the American League.
Although we won’t see judge on the field for All -Star it’s great to see the Yankee’s Captain focused on getting better to be back on the Field for the regular season with his team.
Even though the fans this year aren’t going to see Judge, there is still plenty of star power to enjoy watching play at the 2023 Edition of the MLB All-Star Game and to catch all the action fans are encouraged to tune into the MLB All Star Game on July 11 8pm On Fox.
