Washington Mystics Hope to Combat Windy City Blues in Sunday W game against the Sky

The Washington Mystics (7-4) have been playing a great brand of basketball as of late, as the ladies won their last two games over Phoenix and the very same Chicago Sky (5-7) that they are going to face in WNBA action on Thursday night.

This is the third meeting between these two franchises, with thus far the Mystics having a 2-0 advantage, as the ladies won the very first meeting between the two teams that was played on May 26.
Chicago hasn’t been a easy team to play causing the Mystics fits, as the team has to buckle down on defense to defend their pesky opponent.

Thankfully the ladies have had some help with some beautiful overall team play and oh yeah the resurgence of Two-Time MVP in Elena Delle Donne to help lead the way.

Recently Delle Donne made a bit of personal history, when Delle Donne made a bit of herstory in recording her 4,500th career point, she now is the 30th player in WNBA history to amass such numbers.

There are going to be some changes to the 2023 Mystics roster, as they signed guard Abby Meyers to a hardship contract.

For a bit the team are going to have to go without guard Kristi Toliver (injury) and Li Meng (playing for the Chinese National Team).

Washington Mystics fans are encouraged to check out the following video featuring thoughts from Head Coach Eric Thibault, Abby Meyers and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough...video compliments of the Washington Mystics:

Thankfully the franchise has an eye for talent and were able to find DMV product Meyers to hopefully boost the starting rotation while they are on the road. Meyers, hailing from Potomac, Maryland, was originally selected by Dallas with the 11th overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft before being waived.

One of the cool things about Meyers is that she played with the University of Maryland, and the team is hoping that her shooting ability can help them for the next few games. Meyers has a stat line of 14.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals in 35 games (34 starts) for the Terrapins.

Fans are encouraged to check out the following TikTok video featuring thoughts from Meyers, created by Kim Dillinger:

Meyers is going to be a part of the roster as the team is currently in Chicago and wearing #10 for the Mystics.

It is going to be fascinating to see what Mystics team is going to be on the floor as they enter into Wintrust Arena, as there have been two sides to the team. The countdown is currently on as the Mystics are going to take on the Chicago Sky at 8:00 p.m.
