NYCFC keeper Luis Barraza made his first save of the night on a shot by Bobby Wood. Then the momentum went the way of the home side as Pereira had himself a chance that was saved by Revolution keeper Djordje Petrovic.
Both Barraza and Petrovic showed their quality of goalkeeping during the match, as they made highlight reel saves in attempting to keep the night scoreless.
One of the closest shots of the night came at the 34′ when Richard Ledezma clanked the post at the 34′ with an audible groan leaving his and the rest of the fans within NYCFC fans with how close of an opportunity that was.
With a tremendous scoreless effort put in at the half, both of the teams reentered the field with a great energy and continued their fine play in the second.
There was so much passion and emotions shown by the guys on the pitch and fans in the stands that Yankee Stadium was rocking for most of the match. Ultimately at the end of the night it was the defenses playing to a stalemate and both squads winding up with a 0-0 draw.
There were some impressive stats as New York City FC led in possession % 54.5, in shots 17-12, in shots on goal 5-2, total passes 484 and they also finished the night with a 83.7 passing accuracy.
