Luquinhas had the fans oohing and ahhing for most of the match with his style of play, as he busted out his best video game moves for another attempt at the 30′. Minutes later Andrés Reyes attempted a left footed shot that just missed the mark.
Reyes had himself another great chance at the 35′, prior to Orlando City SC gaining the ball and getting an attempt on their own side of the field as Kyle Smith attempted a right footed shot at the 41′.
Prior to the half Cory Burke, making his first start for the Red Bulls, continuing his fine style of play, attempted a right footed shot. The hosts had two additional tries by Tom Barlow that missed and went into the Half trailing 1-0.
Starting the second, Orlando City increased their lead and never looked back on goals by Facundo Torres in the 52′ and the 72′. New York showed a ton of heart through the night, but at the end of it all wound up with a tough 3-0 loss.
There was a bit of a milestone moment for the squad as Captain Sean Nealis made his 100th appearance for the club, in addition Dru Yearwood made his 50th career MLS Start.
