That was before the referees called the play back much to the dismay of the 14,806 that were in attendance in the Bronx.

Also fans are encouraged to check out the following video as Head Coach Nick Cushing shares these thoughts after the team’s loss to FC Cincinnati:

From there FC Cincinnati started to gain the momentum and got the first goal of the match at the 38′ when Luciano Acosta blasted a right-footed shot into the cage.

Things went downhill from there, as the physicality and intensity picked up between the two sides. There was so much emotion and passion shown by both squads that the play had the fans in the Bronx rocking for most of the night.

Then in the 59′ Álvaro Barreal doubled the visiting sides lead with a free kick to the top right corner of the goal.

Just when the Boys in Blue looked like they were out of the match in the 64′, Braian Cufré got his first goal in New York on a header from the center of the box.

With hope just starting to fill Yankee Stadium again, the wind was quickly sucked out thanks to a goal by FC Cincinnati in the 70,’ when Brandon Vazquez connected on a penalty on a right-footed shot.
From there the stellar defense for the visiting side stood tall and they were able to retain their status at the top of the MLS standings.

Up next for the Boys in Blue they get to stay in New York City, and a shot of redemption in front of their home crowd at Yankee Stadium. NYCFC has a chance to play host to the New England Revolution with a match that is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
