Brooklyn Cyclones Win Game 2 thriller over Aberdeen 4-2

In what was a thriller of a baseball game the Brooklyn Cyclones (8-11) defeated the Aberdeen IronBirds (7-14) in Minor League Baseball action in Coney Island on Wednesday.

Prior to the start of the game those members of the St. Lucie Mets received their Championship rings, as the team won the 2022 Florida State League Championships.

From there it was a night of fun and great baseball as both teams wowed the fans with both their bats and their great play.
It was one heck of a pitcher’s duel as Brooklyn start Jeffrey Colon took on Aberdeen Jean Pinto. Both guys impressed with their stuff as they mixed things up. Colon wound up the night with striking out seven batters, including getting out of two bases loaded situations; meanwhile Pinto struck out seven batters in four innings worked.

In the Third Inning it was a miscue by the IronBirds that assisted the Cyclones with getting the 1-0 lead, as a throw that went wide of the catcher plated the first run of the game.

Brooklyn doubled their lead in the Fifth Inning ,as Jaylen Palmer got himself on the basepaths via a hard hit ball, one batter later Stanley Consuegra ripped a triple to center field to drive home the second run of the game.

From there a light mist hit the area as both teams tapped into the bullpen to keep the score close.

It wasn’t until the Seventh Inning that was when Jackson Holliday, hit a booming double to get a rally going for his team. Aberdeen tied things up quickly thanks to the bat of Max Wagner as he blasted a homer to center field.

Brooklyn bounced right back when Alex Ramirez hit a double of his own into center field, that opened up the doors for the Cyclones offense as they started to make great contact. It was a doubles fest as Kevin Parada and Drake Osborn both reached second base and lifted the Cyclones to the 4-2 lead.

From there the bullpen from both sides were able to their fine selection of pitches to wrap up the evening.

Game 3 Between these two Northern Division rivals is set to take place at 7:00 p.m.as Blade Tidwell (0-1, 5.56 ERA) takes on Daniel Federman (1-1, 4.60 ERA).

Tidwell is one of the prospects to watch for on the Cyclones, as he features a 94-96 fastball that is combined with a mid 80 mph slider that has had many hopeful that he will soon be making his way up the Minor League system.

Going to be a great night in Coney Island as the Brooklyn Cyclones play host to the Aberdeen IronBirds at Maimonides Park .
