Gotham FC set to test themselves on the road against Kansas City

The ladies of Gotham FC have been on a bit of a roll as of late and look to continue their positive play as they take on the Kansas City Current on Sunday, April 30 at Children’s Mercy Park.

In the team’s last match against the North Carolina Courage on April 22, it was the goal by Lynn Williams that helped to lead the team to their second consecutive regular season victory.

Williams, who at one point in time was a part of the Kansas City roster, has played tremendously since joining Gotham FC. Since joining the roster, Williams has been able to play in five regular season games and tallying four goals.

The goal that was tallied on Saturday night was the 60th of Williams career, as she is now tied with Christine Sinclair for second in league history.

Gotham FC has a ton of new talent on the squad and was able to see the debut of Delannie Sheehan in the match played on April 22. In addition, the team got to see the play of midfielder Nealy Martin, as she also celebrated her birthday while playing against the Courage.

It is a young rivalry thus far between New York and Kansas City, as the ladies of Gotham FC are looking for their first victory, as they have a 0-2-2 record thus far.

Can Gotham FC continue their positive style of soccer or does the Kanas City Current have their number. To be able to see all the action fans can catch the match on the Paramount Plus network.
