Washington Mystics add veteran presence in Kristi Toliver

Always looking for a blend of both talent and experience the Washington Mystics have been able to sign three-time All-Star and two-time WNBA Champion Kristi Toliver to the team.

Toliver is a winner as she has been able to lead her teams to WNBA Championships during the 2016 and 2019 season. In addition, the guard has also been named to the WNBA All-Star team during the 2013, 2018, 2019 season and being a part of the All-WNBA Second Team honors in 2012.

“It is extremely exciting to have Kristi back with the Mystics,” said General Manager Mike Thibault. “Her ability to play both guard positions give our lineup a lot of flexibility. She is one of the premier 3-point shooters in WNBA history, as well as being one of the best players to create her own shot in key situations.”

Kristi has been a part of three WNBA Franchises as the University Of Maryland product appeared in 369 games with the Los Angeles Sparks, in addition to being a huge part of the Chicago Sky and the Washington Mystics.

Thus far the guard has been able to average 12.0 points, 3.5 assist, 2.2 rebounds in 27.4 minutes per game. Toliver has her name etched in the history books in the WNBA as she is seventh in three-point field goals made (641) and 10th amongst active players in all-time three-point average.

The excitement is starting to build as the 2023 WNBA season is about to start and it will do so in style as the Washington Mystics take on the New York Liberty with the tip time set for 7:00 p.m.
