It has been a heck of a home stand for the Brooklyn Cyclones, as they were able to get the bats going against the Wilmington Blue Rocks in the third and fifth games of a six-game home stand.
While the final game of the series on Sunday got washed out with the rain that was in the New York City area, the guys on the team have a ton of positive momentum as they head down to Jersey Shore for a six-game road trip.
The Cyclones wrapped up Game Three on Thursday with seven total hits, as Alex Ramirez and Cesar Berbesi led the way by getting two hits each in helping to lead the team to the 7-1 victory.
On the mound there were several Brooklyn pitchers who had fine performances. Starter Raimon Gomez had four strikeouts in 3.1 Innings Pitched. Relievers Trey McLoughlin and Jace Beck both had five strikeouts each.
Game Four was a tough 4-2 loss before the bounce back performance by the team in Game Five on Saturday.
The game on Saturday was certainly a thriller as it took extra innings to determine the winner. In that one Ramirez played a huge role as his RBI single in the 11th walked the team off in style.
On the mound for Brooklyn starter Jordan Gerber had himself a strong showing by tossing six innings and fanning five batters.
Up next for the Cyclones is going to be a tough road stretch in New Jersey, as they take on the Jersey Shore BlueClaws on Tuesday. Game One between the Cyclones and BlueClaws is set for 6:05 p.m.
