Mets Draw a Blank in the First Game In Milwaukee

One of the more interesting challenges for any Major League Baseball team is how to travel and make the adjustments necessary to win baseball games.

The New York Mets (3-2) are going to hopefully learn that lesson as they progress through the 2023 schedule. as they were unable to score a run in the first game in Milwaukee at American Family Field, with the final score being 10-0.

New York had two bright spots as Daniel Vogelbach had a hit and Luis Guillorme  had two. On the mound Carlos Carrasco was able to strike out four batters, but allowed five runs in four-plus innings.

Leading the way in the game for the Brewers was Brice Turang, who had a 2-3 day at the plate, to go along with a homer, four RBIs, two runs and a stolen base. Also having a great day at the plate was Brian Anderson who also had a 2-3 day at the dish, hitting a homer and driving in three runs.

Turang who is only in his first year in Major League Baseball is already making noise by hitting a grand slam against New York. Even better news for Brice was the fact that he had his family in attendance for the blast that went 417 feet out of center field.

Freddy Peralta had a fine showing on the mound for Milwaukee as he went Six Innings and striking out seven batters.

New York hopes to rebound in game two against the Brewers and hoping to help with that will be starter Max Scherzer (1-0) Scherzer did well in his last start striking out six batters, as he is moving up the all-time strikeout leaders with 3,199.

It will be an interesting test for the Mets as they will go up against Wade Miley. During the course of Miley’s career he has so far 99 wins with a 4.13 ERA to go along with 1,280 strikeouts.
