New York Liberty News and Notes as Excitment builds for 2023 Season

The 2023 WNBA Season is almost amongst us and the New York Liberty is one of the many teams staying active and busy to get themselves ready for the new year.

Always looking for new talent to their training camp the franchise recently signed guard Morgan Green and Stephanie Mawuli to contracts.

Green who played at Michigan State and UC Irvine, is also a member on E. On ELTE BEAC Budapest in Hungary’s A Division. The guard averages 17 points, 5.7 assist and 5.5 rebounds on 35.3% shooting from the three-point arc.

Mawuli, who hails from Toyohashi, Japan, played with the Japan’s National Team along with the Toyota Antelopes of the WJBL. In six seasons with the club Stephanie had 14.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.8 assist per contests.

In looking to add new and exciting experiences to their brand the Liberty along with the Brooklyn Nets and the Long Island Nets all are now partners with CarMax. Many may know CarMax as one of the largest buyers and sellers of used cars.

Thanks to this agreement there will be many new in-arena activations, social media features and enhanced opportunities for fans to interact with CarMax both digitally and in person.”

The Liberty and the Nets continue their amazing work in the community via a new partnership with the New York City Public Schools.

On March 22 at P.S. 001 in Sunset Park Nets Head Coach Jacque Vaughn, Liberty Assistant Coach Roneeka Hodges and Zach O’Brien, Nets forward Cam Johnson, and Liberty center Jonquel Jones were in attendance to show support and celebrate the launch of the program where they also engaged with student participants during the first clinic that was held.

Lots of excitement and curiosity is starting to build for the New York Liberty, as many fans are fascinated to be able to see how this current team comes together. Training camp for the team starts on April 30th and that will be the time for the team to build chemistry and bonds that will help them throughout the 2023 Season.
