There is always a certain excitement that builds whenever New York City FC and DC United meet. that will be no different on Saturday, as these two MLS rivals will get to renew a rivalry at Yankee Stadium.
For the Boys in Blue they started to regain the form that have made them so successful over the past few seasons in their last match against Inter Miami. Thus far in the last five matches, NYCFC has been able to have one victory, two draws and two losses.
One of the stars in the match against Inter Miami was Santiago Rodriguez, who showed great speed and passing ability all throughout the match.

As for DC United they were able to get off to a great start against Toronto FC but have not been able to see a victory since. In the last two DC United fell to Columbus (2-0) and then had a 1-1 draw against Orlando City.
It has been a sizzling rivalry between the two squads, as they have been able to face each other 19 times in total. Thus far the Citzyens have 10 wins, while DC United has 6 wins, to go along with that three of those matches have gone to a draw.
In the last six encounters, NYCFC has been able to earn four victories, but in the most recent meeting between the two clubs the Boys in Blue were defeated by DC United.
One of the more interesting storylines is the fact that Tony Alfaro, who was a former fixture with DC United is now on the NYCFC roster. It will be interesting to see how Alfaro can make an impact in the match.
Alfaro has a ton of experience to bring to the squad, as he also has played in the MLS, Concacaf Champions League and in Liga MX. It will be interesting to see if Head Coach Nick Cushing gives the defender the call to go up against his former club.
In addition the Boys in Blue will look to welcome back, Tayvon Gray and Alfredo Morales as the duo hope to see time on the pitch, as the duo returns from injury.
The excitment builds and the countdown is on, as the clash between New York City FC and DC United is just days away from thrilling soccer fans at Yankee Stadium.
