New York City FC will have a chance to return home to Yankee Stadium on March 11, as they will take on Inter Miami in the clubs Home Opener. The Boys in Blue are hoping to rebound after two tough matches against Nashville and Chicago.
Thus far NYCFC has always played well at Yankee Stadium, as they have a 5-1-2 record since the team was founded in 2015. In addition, the guys have only lost one home opener in their eight-year existence.
When it comes time for scoring, the team always plays well in front of their home crowd, as they have been able to find the back of the net four of more times in three of their five victories. In addition, the Cityzens average 2.6 goals when they play at Yankee Stadium.
Fans of the Boys in Blue are encouraged to check out the following video featuring thoughts from, Head Coach Nick Cushing along with midfielder Santiago Rodriguez:
NYCFC and Inter Miami have always played well against each other. The last time the two franchises met was during the 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs. In that match NYCFC soared to a 3-0 victory, and in that match the team saw goals by Gabriel Pereira, Maxi Moralez and Heber found the back of the net.
Thus far the Cityzens have lost only once in their seven meetings against Inter Miami, and that came on August 13 at DRV PNK Stadium. In that match Inter Miami had a 3-2 victory and in that action Talles Magno and Thiago Andrade were the leaders for NYCFC.
