Getting back to the all-time series history against Butler this is the 22nd time that these two historic College Basketball rivals were able to meet each other. The rivalry between the two started in the 1958 NIT (National Invitational Tournament) that was also held at the Garden.
Flash forward to this year’s tournament the Red Storm entered into the game having won their last three games at The Garden. The Team continued that momentum with a huge victory over Butler to advance them to the next round against Marquette.
