Adding more depth to the defensive side of the field New York City FC added Stephen Turnbull to a short-term contract recently, he will be on loan from MLS NEXT Pro affiliate New York City Football Club II (NYCFC II).
The contract Turnbull signed allows for clubs to sign players on loan from the teams MLS NEXT Pro affiliate for MLS, U.S. Open Cup, Concacaf Champions League and exhibition matches.
Thus far in the time that Turnbull has impressed, as he has been able to see time with the First Team. During the course of last year, the defender was a part of NYCFC II after being a part of the Stony Brook University program in February of 2022.
During the course of 23 games, the fullback scored five goals and provided four assists with an 82.6% passing success rate in 1,992 minutes played.
Now it will be time for Stephen to join the team in Chicago, as he hopes to lift the team to an important victory against the Fire in the match that is happening later today.
