Pair of Jonnies honored by BIG EAST Conference

St. John’s AJ Storr and Dylan Addae-Wusu were honored by the BIG EAST Conference for their play during the last week.
Storr was able to earn his third BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, while Addae-Wusu was named to the Weekly Honor Roll.

In the games versus DePaul and No 18/19 Creighton Storr was able to average 11.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in two starts. In the double-overtime victory over DePaul Storr was able to have 14 points, seven rebounds and three assist. Then against Creighton he was able to have an additional nine points and four rebounds.

Storr has been one of the top stars for the BIG EAST Conference, has he leads the conference in 3-point field goal percentage, hitting 42.3 percent of his attempts from a distance through 28 games. In his rookie year, Storr has been able to average 11.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest in 12 starts.

Addae-Wusu, meanwhile, has been a great presence for the Red Storm, bringing great energy and hustle anytime he steps onto the floor. Thus far Dylan has been able to average 15.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 3.5 assists in the games against DePaul and No 18/19 Creighton.

In the team’s double-overtime victory against DePaul, Addae-Wusu had a career-high 24 points while hitting a 3-pointer with 0.5 seconds in regulation to force overtime. In addition, Dylan had a career-high with 11 rebounds in addition to four steals.

Meanwhile, against Creighton, Dylan had five assists and five rebounds, while also having a career-high five steals.
Addae-Wusu is now in third place on the BIG EAST’s steals chart, as he has been able to average 1.9 per game in conference play.

Up next for the St. John’s Men’s Basketball team will be a trip to Washington D.C. as they will take on Georgetown University at Capital One Arena. The tip for that will be set for 9:00 p.m. with fans interested in watching the action can do so on the CBS Sports Network.
