Fans of Boxing in New Jersey get ready, as Star Boxing will have their first professional boxing event on March 4 at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City, New Jersey.
For those unfamiliar with the White Eagle Hall, that is a venue in the restored historic building in Downtown Jersey City. White Eagle Hall was originally built in 1910 as a community center, in 2013 it underwent a huge renovation and was able to reopen in April 2017. It is known to be intimate, adorned with two unique skylights and a gothic era design.
Star Boxing CEO Joe DeGuardia had this to say, “We are excited to bring professional boxing to White Eagle Hall in Jersey City for the first time. We plan on having not just quality boxing, but an experience. It is an intimate and unique setting, and we are thrilled to be working with Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment (HBSE) and expect our joint venture will bring an experience to Jersey City that fans will find unforgettable.”
Some of the fastest rising stars in the world of boxing will be in action, as a name signed for the night will be super bantamweight prospect Rajon “Picasso” Chance (7-0-1, 5 KO’s). This will be Chances debut with Star Boxing and will be an epic night for the upcoming star as he is a native of New Jersey.
In his amateur career, Chance has a 135-15 record, in addition to having three national championships, the first at the age of 11. Rajon turned pro in 2020 and is looking to make a statement at the 122 lb. division on March 4.
Fans will also have the chance to see super lightweight Irish prospect of the Year in ‘The Silent Assassin’ Ryan O’Rourke (Dublin, Ireland, 9-0, 2 KOs” who will be making the trek across the Atlantic Ocean to impress the fans of America. Thus far O’Rourke has been impressive in his boxing career as he was able to demolish Andrea Maier at Star Boxing Shore Wars in November.
There will also be undefeated super welterweight prospect Jahyae ‘Golden Child’ Brown (Schenectady, NY, 12-0 9 KOs), who is an exciting young figtehr with a high boxing IQ. Brown is set to star in what will be an eight-round bout.
“HBSE is excited to partner with Joe DeGuardia and Star Boxing to bring live professional boxing to White Eagle Hall on March 4th for what is believed to be the first time in the building’s history,” said Dylan Wanagiel, VP of Sports Properties & Special Events for Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment/Prudential Center. “We know it will be an exciting night as we welcome some of the top boxing prospects in the world. To continue to diversify the programming across our venues, March 4th will be a launching pad to a very successful boxing program for White Eagle Hall and the entire State of New Jersey.”
