Hofstra Men’s Basketball Wins four in a roll with 86-62 victory over Delaware

The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team is on a bit of a roll as they have won four in a roll, the latest a 86-62 victory over the University of Delaware. Helping to lead the way for the Pride was Aaron Estrada finishing the night with 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. Estrada was followed by Warren Williams with his 17 points and six rebounds. These two teams played in what was an action packed game at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.

Hofstra now improves to a 12-7 overall record while having a 5-1 mark in Colonial Athletic Association play. Delaware now has a 10-8 mark while also having a 2-3 record against conference foes.

Things were not in favor of Hofstra University at first, but the guys were able to get into a bit of rhythm as they had a 9-2 run to give themselves a 13-6 lead. Williams had himself a stellar showing with four points in helping the Pride to gain a seven-point advantage. 

It was in the second half of the game that the Pride was able to increase their lead to 20 points  as a 7-0 scoring run made the score 49-29 with 16:04 left in regulation. 

Some of the other stars for Hofstra University included Tyler Thomas who had 16 points and five rebounds, while Jaquan Carlos had 14 points, six assists , five rebounds and steals.

Helping to lead the way for Delaware was Ebby Asamoah, as he had 13 points and seven rebounds, while Jyare Davis had 10 points and nine rebounds.

Up next for Hofstra University will be a road trip to Towson University, as the two teams will play a 12 p.m. contest on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
