Hofstra redshirt senior Aaron Estrada was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office this morning.
Estrada, who captured the award after leading the Pride to a pair of victories last week, earns his second weekly honor of the season after being named the CAA Player of the Week on November 21 as well.
He shared the award with Nicolas Timberlake of Towson.
It was another strong week for Estrada as he led the Pride to a pair of dominating road wins.
In Thursday’s victory over Hampton, Estrada posted 20 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. He played all 40 minutes in the game. All three totals were game-highs in the contest.
On Saturday, he once again scored 20 points and added seven assists and four rebounds in the rout of William & Mary. The seven assists were good for game-high honors.
Estrada has now scored 20 or more points 25th times in his two seasons at Hofstra and nine times this season.
For the week he averaged 20.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per outing. He shot 55.2% from the field (16-29) and 5-11 (45.5%) from three-point range.
