Hofstra Men’s Basketball  Heads To Sunshine State To Run With The Bulls

Following the traditional break for final exams, the Hofstra Men’s Basketball team will return to action on Monday, December 19 when it travels to South Florida for its final non-conference road game of the season.

Tip-off from the Yuengling Center is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Hofstra Athletics Pride Club and Hofstra Alumni Association are partnering together to host a pregame meet-up prior to the game. The meet-up will take place at North 30th Sports Bar and Grille at 5 p.m. Game ticket and appetizers are included with this ticket.

This will be the Pride’s first trip to the state of Florida since taking part in the Boca Raton Beach Classic in 2019. The Pride defeated Holy Cross and Canisius in their two games, which were played on the campus of Florida Atlantic.

The game will air on ESPN+ and WRHU will carry an audio only broadcast on the HAWC. Links to both, as well as the live statistics, can be found on this page and on the men’s basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra is 6-5 this season following a loss to Massachusetts on December 11 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The Pride, which has played its last two games without leading scorer Aaron Estrada, was paced by Darlinstone Dubar’s 13 points and seven rebounds. Also in double figures for Hofstra was Warren Williams (12) and Griffin Barrouk (11). For Williams and Barrouk, it marked the first double figure scoring games of their Pride careers.

South Florida has won three straight games to improve to 5-6 on the season. They most recently defeated Dartmouth, 59-55, on Friday evening. Russel Tchewa had 11 points and eight rebounds for the Bulls.

This will be the third all-time meeting between Hofstra and South Florida with the Bulls taking the first two. The first meeting occurred during the 2001-02 season and the most recent meeting was a one-point game (71-70) on November 25, 2014 in Tampa.
