Back in the New York Groove for Brandon Nimmo as he resigns with the Mets

Growing up in Wyoming there were a ton of things that had to align for one Brandon Nimmo in order to find himself with the New York Mets. On a beautiful Thursday afternoon, the Mets Center Fielder sat in front of journalist along with his agent and friends and family to make the fact that his eight-year, $162 million deal official.

There were a lot of factors that had went into the decision-making process for Nimmo, who was saught after by many teams in the free agency period. When it came down to it though, the fact that he was drafted by the team and the fact that the franchise had always made him feel as if he is a member of the family were factors in him staying in New York.

“The Cohens have been nothing but family to us right from the top,” Nimmo said in the press conference. “That’s something harder to find throughout the league with ownership.”

The Center Fielder continued by saying, “To be able to start your career and be able to finish your career with the same team, that’s something really, really special. Not many players get to do that. We get to continue to set our roots down here and be a part of this organization from top to bottom.”

Nimmo, who was selected by the Mets in the 2011 MLB Draft will likely spend the rest of his time in New York.

Brandon who is the first of many the franchise feels will help to propel them to the World Series in 2023 and beyond, as there have also been some huge free agent signings to the team as well. Thus far the team has also added Justin VerlanderKodai SengaJose Quintana, and David Robertson, and trading for Brooks Raley.
