Hofstra Men’s Basketball And George Mason Renew Acquaintances

The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team will face a former conference rival this week as the Pride travels to George Mason for a non-conference game on Wednesday.

Tip-off from EagleBank Arena is slated for 7 p.m.

From 2001 to 2013, Hofstra and George Mason were conference rivals in the Colonial Athletic Association and developed a fierce rivalry.

The game will air on ESPN+ and WRHU (88.7 FM) will have an audio only broadcast as well. Links to both, as well as the live statistics, can be found on this page and on the men’s basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra heads into the game with a 6-2 record after earning a pair of wins at the Northern Classic in Laval, Quebec, Canada over the weekend. The Pride closed play in the “Great White North” with victories over UNC Greensboro and Quinnipiac.

George Mason is 3-4 this season and most recently earned a 72-65 win over Queens on November 26 at home.

Wednesday’s game will be the 17th all-time meeting between Hofstra and George Mason in men’s basketball. The Patriots have won 11 of them, including the most recent meeting on February 20, 2013. The Pride’s most recent win in the series occurred on January 5, 2011 in an 87-74 home victory as Charles Jenkins had 32 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and three steals.
