Fordham’s Tim DeMorat Named GEICO Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week

 Fordham senior quarterback Tim DeMorat was named the GEICO Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week it was announced by the league office today. It is the ninth weekly honor for DeMorat, the 2022 Patriot League Preseason Offensive Player of the Year.

In a 52-38 Patriot League win over Colgate on Jack Coffey Field on Saturday, DeMorat completed 33 of 51 passes for 454 yards and six touchdowns, tying his own school record. The game was DeMorat’s 33rd career 200-yard passing game, bettering the Fordham record of 26 set by John Skelton (2006-2009), his 20th career 300-yard passing game, breaking Mike Nebrich’s (2012-2014) school record of 15, and his sixth 400-yard passing game of the season, his eight overall, breaking Nebrich’s school record of seven.

On the year, DeMorat has completed 301 of 458 passes for 4,561 yards and a school and Patriot League record 53 touchdowns. He leads the NCAA FCS in passing yards/game (414.6), passing touchdowns (53), and total offense (417.4 yards/game). DeMorat has set the school and Patriot League records for most passing touchdowns in a season (53) and career (120) and most passing yards in a season (4,561). He also set school career records for completions (1,007) and passing yards (13,124).

Over his career, DeMorat, who earned weekly honors for the 14th time over the past two years, has completed 1,007 passes for 13,124 yards and 120 touchdowns, all Fordham records.

The Rams, who are 13th in the latest AFCA FCS Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, open play at the 2022 NCAA FCS Championship by traveling to Durham, New Hampshire, to face the University of New Hampshire Wildcats on Saturday, November 26, at 2:00 p.m.
