Hofstra Men’s Basketball Heads West To Begin Important Stretch

The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team will begin a big two-week stretch that will see the Pride travel to California and Canada with a Thursday contest at San Jose State.

Tip-off time is 7 p.m. local (10 p.m. New York).

Starting on Thursday and through November 27, Hofstra will play a total of five games with two in California (Saint Mary’s on November 19) followed by a trio of games at the Northern Classic in Laval, Quebec, Canada from November 25-27.

Thursday’s game will air on the Mountain West Network and will also be available on NBC Sports Bay Area. WRHU (88.7 FM) will carry an audio only broadcast on the HAWC. Links to both, as well as the live statistics, can be found on this page and on the men’s basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra improved to 3-0 this season with an 85-80 win over George Washington on Monday evening. Aaron Estrada poured in 33 points, the fifth 30-point game of his career, to lead the way. Tyler Thomas added 17 points, while Nelson Boachie-Yiadom added seven points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Darlinstone Dubar chipped in with 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

It is Hofstra’s first 3-0 start since the 2017-18 season when the Pride opened with wins over Army West Point, Kennesaw State, and Dayton.

San Jose State is 2-0 on the year heading into their game Tuesday night against Alabama State. The Spartans have beaten Georgia Southern and Bethesda so far to open the season.

Hofstra and San Jose State have met just once prior. The Spartans defeated the Pride, 79-71, in the season opener during the 2019-20 campaign. Eli Pemberton led Hofstra with 23 points, while Desure Buie added 13 points and seven assists.
