Hofstra redshirt freshman Amar’e Marshall was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week, it was announced recently by the conference office. 

Marshall shined in the first appearance in a Pride uniform as he was second on the team with 15 points and added three rebounds in the victory over Princeton last Monday. He shot 54.5% (6-11) from the field and played nearly 27 minutes against the Tigers. 

Marshall also played five minutes in Hofstra’s win over Iona on Friday.
