For the fourth time this year, Fordham senior quarterback Tim DeMorat was named GEICO Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week when the League office announced honors on Monday.
In a 59-38 Patriot League win over Georgetown on Jack Coffey Field on Saturday, DeMorat, the Patriot League preseason offensive player of the year, completed 21 of 35 passes for 348 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed five times for 30 net yards, including a 27-yard touchdown run. The game was DeMorat’s 27th career 200-yard passing game, bettering the Fordham record of 26 set by John Skelton (2006-2009).
On the year, DeMorat has completed 133 of 199 passes for 2,153 yards and 26 touchdowns. He leads the NCAA FCS in passing touchdowns and passing yards/game.
Over his career, DeMorat, who earned weekly honors for the ninth time over the past two years, has completed 839 passes for 10,716 yards and 93 touchdowns, all Fordham records.
The Rams, who moved up to 16th in the latest AFCA FCS Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, return to action on Saturday, October 8, as they travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to face the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks in a Patriot League contest in Goodman Stadium at 12:30 p.m.
