The non-conference schedule is nearly finished for the Hofstra Men’s Basketball team and the program announced today it will travel to Princeton for its season opener.
The 2022-23 lid-lifter will be on November 7 at Jadwin Gymnasium.
“The start of the season is such an exciting time and we look forward to kicking it off against a quality opponent in Princeton,” commented Hofstra Head Men’s Basketball Coach Speedy Claxton. “It will also be a special time to be at Princeton as we all remember and honor a coaching legend in Pete Carril.”
Hofstra has previously announced non-conference games versus Iona (November 11), versus George Washington (November 14), at Saint Mary’s (November 19), at George Mason (November 30), at Purdue (December 7), versus Massachusetts (December 11 at the Barclays Center), and at South Florida (December 19). The entire Colonial Athletic Association slate was released on August 16.
This will be the eighth all-time meeting between Hofstra and Princeton in Men’s Basketball. The series began during the 1955-56 campaign and the teams met last season in Hempstead.
Both programs are connected by a former head coach as Butch van Breda Kolff led each programs at one time. van Breda Kolff was the head coach at Hofstra from 1955-62 and again from 1988-94 and led Princeton from 1962-67.
