The Hofstra men’s basketball program announced another exciting addition to the upcoming schedule as the Pride and South Florida have agreed to a two-year home-and-home contract.
The 2022-23 game will be on Monday, December 19 in Tampa, Florida. The return game at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex will be during the 2023-24 season on a date to be determined. The Hofstra Office for Development and Alumni Affairs is planning an alumni event around this year’s game and more information will be available soon.
“Another huge addition to our schedule,” commented Hofstra Head Coach Speedy Claxton. “To be able to agree to a true home-and-home with an opponent like South Florida and with a team from a conference like the American Athletic Conference speaks to how highly our program is thought of. We will continue to challenge our team and we look forward to facing the Bulls in Florida this season and seeing a ton of our incredible Hofstra alumni!”
Hofstra has previously announced non-conference games versus Iona (November 11), at Saint Mary’s (November 19), at Purdue (December 7), and versus Massachusetts (December 11 at the Barclays Center).
The 2022-23 game will be the third-ever meeting between the teams on the hardwood and the first since the 2014-15 season.
