The Albany FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announce that forward Charlie Kitchen will make his debut in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) this weekend as an attackman. Kitchen joined the Waterdogs during the PLL offseason and will see his first action as the team takes on the Cannons in Dallas, Texas.
The Waterdogs are fighting for a playoff spot, currently sitting in fifth place with a 3-3 record with three regular season games remaining. Kitchen joined the Waterdogs in January but has been a reserve player throughout the season. As a reserve player, Kitchen has spent his summer in the Capital Region teaching the FireWolves youth clinics and attending various camps around the area. During his debut season in the NLL with the FireWolves, Kitchen totaled 22 points in 15 games.
“I am so happy that Charlie is finally getting his opportunity to play in the PLL. Anyone who knows Charlie, knows what a great competitor he is and that he will make the most of it. Charlie has been an unbelievable asset to the FireWolves, not only on the field, but also off the field. This entire summer, he has been working as our brand ambassador, partnering with local lacrosse organizations, coaches, clinics, and camps to help teach and grow the sport in the Capital Region. Hard work definitely paid off for Charlie and we are all excited to watch him play and root him on this Sunday!”
To watch Kitchen in action this weekend, tune into ESPN+ this Sunday at 1 p.m.
