Washington Mystics show grit in 87-86 OT victory over Las Vegas

The Washington Mystics in the last game of a long road stretch showed some heart and grit in the team’s 87-86 victory over the Las Vegas Aces in WNBA action on June 25.

Going into the game the Mystics had a three-game losing streak on the road, as the last time the ladies were able to earn a victory in Vegas was on 8/5/19..

Leading the way for the Mystics on the offensive side of the floor was forward Elena Delle Donne who had 19 points on 7-of-17 shooting. Delle Donne became the second player in franchise history to compile 15 plus points, 10 plus rebounds, and five plus blocks in a single game.

Guard Natasha Cloud had herself a showing in having her second double-double of the season, tallying 16 points while also dishing out a game-high 10 assists. Cloud has had some great moments as of late, that includes a double-double in two of the last three games.

Forward Alysha Clark had a season-high 20 points, while also grabbing a season-high eight boards. The 20 points were the most that Clark has scored in a game since netting 21 points on 8/11/19 against the New York Liberty as a member of the Seattle Storm.

The Mystics also had stellar performances from Shakira Austin who had five rebounds and Ariel Atkins who had 15 points.

Washington will now be returning to the friendly confines of the Entertainment and Sports Arena, where they will play host to the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday, June 28 in a game that is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
