Washington Mystics earn close 84-82 victory over Chicago Sky

The Washington Mystics (8-5) are looking strong during the course of the 2022 WNBA Season, in their most recent game the ladies were able to defeat the reigning WNBA Champs the Chicago Sky by a final of 84-82.

Washington now has a 13-5 record in their last 18 contests against Chicago, this is a record that dates back to the 2017 Season. One of the reasons for the team’s victory is the fact that the ladies were able to tie a season high with 13 offensive rebounds.

One of the stars of the game was Mystics guard/forward Alysha Clark, who had a season-high 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting. The last time that Clark was able to score a lot of points in a single game, the last time she achieved this was when she scored 21 on 8/11/19 vs Chicago.

1495 Sports is proud to bring the following Washington Mystics Post Game Press Conference from 6/8/2022. This was after the team’s 84-82 victory over the Chicago Sky in WNBA action in Washington D.C. Video features thoughts from General Manager Head Coach Mike Thibault, Alysha Clark, Ariel Atkins and Natasha Cloud:

Ariel Atkins had a team-high 19 points, and now has 15 plus points in eight total games this year. Guard Natasha Cloud continues to be an assist machine, as she was able to dish out five assists. Rounding out the scoring is Shakira Austin who had 14 points, as Austin has now been able to score in double figures four times this season.

The Mystics will have a quick turnaround as the team is heading to Minnesota to take on the Lynx in a game that is going to be played tomorrow (June 10) with the tip between the two set for 8:00 p.m.
