The Albany FireWolves, of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), recently announced that the regular season finale on Saturday, April 30 will be Blackout Night at the MVP Arena, presented by the Special Olympics New York. FireWolves players will wear specialty alternate black uniforms as they take on the New York Riptide to wrap up the team’s inaugural regular season. After defeating the Philadelphia Wings this past weekend, the FireWolves need another big win to secure their spot in the NLL playoffs.
Fans are encouraged to wear black to show their support for the FireWolves and the Special Olympics New York. Authentic specialty black replica uniforms will be for sale in the merchandise store all game long, as well as black shirts to support the cause.
Fans can take advantage of a special $10 ticket package and the FireWolves will auction off a team-autographed black jersey with all proceeds going towards supporting the Special Olympics New York and their athletes’ trip to the games this summer in Orlando, Florida.
