The Atlantic 10 Conference Championships concluded on Sunday afternoon, with a highly emotional action-packed day of basketball. When the final buzzer sounded, it was the #6-seeded Richmond defeating the #1-seeded Davidson 64-62.

As Capital One Arena was rocking with fans of both the Spiders and the Wildcats the game did not disappoint, as lead changes, great defense and overall tremendous play was seen throughout.

Helping to lead the way for the Spiders was Jacob Gilyard who had 26 points, Tyler Burton had 16 points and 12 rebounds to help lift their squad to their second A-10 title, while also receiving a NCAA Tournament automatic berth for the first time in 11 years.

Richmond had one of the more emotional Tournament runs ever seen, as they had two 15-points comebacks in the early rounds. For the Spiders, it was all worth it though, as they are making their 10th trip to the NCAA Tournament.

The Spiders were able to close out a 10-2 run in the final 1:22 to cap off another stellar comeback from the team. Richmond now has won their 23 game, which is tied for the fifth-most wins in a season in school history.

1495 Sports is proud to bring the following video that features the team celebrating with the A-10 Tite for the First time since 2011 along with thoughts from Head Coach Chris Mooney as well as student-athletes Jacob Gilyard and Grant Golden:

Davidson got some great news from the NCAA Tournament as they were able to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, as they will head to South Carolina to take on the #7-seeded Michigan State.

The Wildcats weren’t the only ones learning where they were heading for the NCAA Tournament, as Richmond will be heading to Buffalo to take on Iowa in the KeyBank Center.
