Atlantic 10 Tournament Championship bound as #1 Davidson takes on #6 Richmond

The final two teams have been determined for the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship and thankfully for fans in the DMV area they have themselves a team in the hunt for the crown.

On Sunday, March 13 at Capital One Arena it will be the #1-seeded Davidson taking on the #6-seeded Richmond. Davidson has been impressive knocking off Fordham and most recently Saint Louis to advanced to the Championship round.

In the Semifinal matchup against Saint Louis, it was the Wildcats earning a 84-69 victory. Leading the way for Davidson was Foster Loyer who had 21 points. Hyunjung Lee had 16 points while A-10 Player of the Year Luka Brajokovic tallied 14 points and 10 boards.

With the victory the Wildcats were able to move on to the program’s second Championship Fina in the past four seasons.

1495 Sports is proud to bring the following press conference from after the Davidson 84-69 victory over Saint Louis:

Saint Louis, who represented themselves well throughout the tournament saw Terrance Hargrove, Jr. leading the way in scoring with his 13 points and DeAndre Jones who had 11 points. The Billikens will be a team to watch as they may have a chance at postseason play depending on how the rest of the Conference Championships play out.

The #6-seeded Richmond once again proved to be bracket busters by defeating the #2-seeded Dayton by a final of 68-64. Richmond has been the team to come back throughout the whole tournament, as they also had a close call against Rhode Island in the Second Round of the Tournament.

Fans in attendance have been mostly Richmond fans, as the University is not that far away from Capital One Arena, so tomorrow and the Championship Finale should be a great atmosphere for anyone who is a fan of College Basketball.
