Washington Mystics Unveil 25th Anniversary Campaign

The Washington Mystics have unveiled their campaign celebrating the team’s 25th anniversary season. As the most successful professional women’s team in the Washington D.C. metropolitan region, Mystics fans have had a chance to witness special moments including the franchise’s first ever WNBA championship in 2019.

Inspired by the grooves of the basketball, the Mystics’ 25th anniversary logo (attached) leans into the physical, iconic imagery associated with basketball. The logo is modern yet features call backs to the Mystics early days. The color silver, which is part of the team color palette, also represents and is associated with a 25th anniversary celebration. Joined with navy, also part of the team color scheme, emphasizes the franchise’s stability, strength, authority, and our connection to the most powerful city in the world. The logo will appear on the Mystics court and on official player on-court warm-ups.

Other components of the logo include the custom 25 numbering, inspired by the team’s historical uniform numbering, and the freeness of the logo simulates the mystical movement of a basketball in play.

Washington will also celebrate their first Hall of Fame class of Vicky Bullett, Chamique Holdsclaw and Murriel Page with a halftime induction ceremony on June 19, the 25th anniversary of the Mystics’ first home game. The first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a retro view finder featuring photos from some of the top moments in franchise history.

The Mystics’ District of Change Artist T-Shirt Series also returns for another season. The Mystics are partnering with Mayor Muriel Bowser’s 202Creates Program to feature local artist designs with all of the proceeds from sales directly benefiting the artist.

The first t-shirt in the series is designed by Rebecca D. Crouch to celebrate Women’s History Month. Crouch expressed what gender equality means to her by creating this design of a female superhero wearing a cape representing the Washington, D.C.  flag and her ‘breaking the glass ceiling’ shown as an outline of Washington, DC. The series tips off March 2 to celebrate Women’s History Month.

Mystics 25 Partial Plans are on sale now by calling 877.DC.Hoop1 or by visiting WashingtonMystics.com. Single Game Tickets for the 2022 season are scheduled to go on sale at a later date.
