St. John’s Women’s Basketball runs into Buzzsaw Creighton, falls 107-59

The St. John’s Women’s Basketball team ran into a complete buzzsaw in Creighton University, as the ladies fell 107-59 in NCAA Women’s Basketball action in Carnesecca Arena.

With the loss the Red Storm falls to a 10-16 record, along with a 6-10 record in the BIG EAST Conference, Creighton meanwhile now has a 19-7, 14-4 record.

This was the second of two meetings between St. John’s and Creighton, as the ladies saw a 86-80 loss earlier in the season. Sadly the Red Storm could not find a winning result as Creighton had a hot night beyond the three-point arc, shooting 55%.

Leading the way for the St. John’s Women’s Basketball team was Danielle Cosgrove, who was able to contribute both in the inside post along with some fine three-point shooting, as the forward finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.

Leilani Correa had eight points as well as three assists. Camree Clegg had eight points and Unique Drake had seven points along with four assists.

For Creighton they have four players with double-figure scoring as Lauren Jensen and Emma Ronsiek both had 16 points each and Carly Bachelor and Jayme Horan both had 14 points each.

Up next for the St. John’s Women’s Basketball team will be a 1:00 p.m. home game against Providence College at Carnesecca Arena. For any fans interested in watching the game can do so on the BEDN Network.
