New York City FC Soars over Santos de Guapiles 2-0

What a way to kick off the 2022 Concacaf Champions League on a strong note, as New York City FC was able to earn a 2-0 victory over Santos de Guapiles on Tuesday night in Costa Rico.

Leading the way for the Boys in Blue was Taty Castellanos, who continues to shine, as the forward was able to continue to show his Golden Boot form, by getting both goals for his squad.

The first of the two goals for Castellanos, had come at the fifth minute, thanks to a penalty by Santos de Guapiles. This would allow for Taty to find the back of the cage in the low right-handed corner and the early lead.

New York City FC showed why they are amongst one of Major League Soccer’s best as they were able to play a solid defense. Santos showed themselves a very impressive offensive scheme, but the Boys in Blue kept them off the boards.
