Former Hofstra Men’s Basketball standout Justin Wright-Foreman has been named to the 12-man roster for the February 2021 USA World Cup Qualifying Team.
Wright-Foreman, a 2019 graduate of Hofstra, also recently signed with the Birmingham Squadron of the NBA G League. The Squadron are the NBA affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans.
Since departing Hofstra, Wright-Foreman has played for the NBA’s Utah Jazz, NBA G League’s Salt Lake City Stars and Erie Bayhawks, as well as in France and Turkey.
The USA squad will open training camp Feb. 18 in Washington, D.C., and will participate in the second competition window of 2021-23 FIBA World Cup Qualifying games that will see the Americans face Puerto Rico (1-1) on Feb. 24 and Mexico (2-0) on Feb. 27. Both games will be played at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.
Wright-Foreman is second all-time at Hofstra with 2,327 career points and third in program history with 277 three-pointers. The CAA Player of the Year in 2017-18 and 2018-19, Wright-Foreman also earned Associated Press All-American honors twice in his career and was an All-CAA performer three times. He earned his degree in rhetorical studies with a minor in linguistics from Hofstra in 2019.
