Hofstra Men’s Basketball Looks To Continue Winning Ways At Delaware

The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team will look to extend its win streak when it faces Delaware on Saturday evening. This will be the 99th all-time meeting between the longtime rivals. The current three-game win streak is Hofstra’s fourth win streak this season of at least three games.

This game features two of the top four teams in the league standings as Hofstra is in third place, while Delaware sits in the fourth spot.

Tip-off from the Bob Carpenter Center is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

The game will air on FloHoops and WRHU (88.7 FM) will have an audio-only broadcast on the Hofstra Athletics Web Channel. Links to both broadcasts, as well as the live statistics, can be found on this page and on the men’s basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra won its third straight game with an 83-73 victory over Drexel on Thursday night. Junior Aaron Estrada had 32 points, six rebounds, and six assists in the game to lead the way, while graduate student Jalen Ray added 20 points and redshirt senior Abayomi Iyiola tallied a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Hofstra is heating up at the right time as the Pride has won seven of its last nine games.

Delaware is 16-8 overall and 7-4 in conference play following a 74-61 win over Northeastern on Thursday. Kevin Anderson led the Blue Hens with 22 points, while Jameer Nelson Jr. had 18.

Hofstra leads the all-time series with Delaware, 64-34. Hofstra won the first meeting this season, 82-77, back on January 15 in Hempstead. The Blue Hens are the Pride’s most-played opponent all-time. Hofstra has won 10 of the last 12 meetings and has won 16 of the 19 meetings dating back to the 2014-15 season. The 98 all-time meetings rank first ahead of the Drexel (96) and Towson (75) series.
