Fordham’s Darius Quisenberry named A-10 Player of the Week

Fordham University graduate student guard Darius Quisenberry has been named the Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Player of the week for game played January 17-23 it was announced by the conference office today. It is the first weekly award for Quisenberry.

In two games on the week, Quisenberry averaged 29.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 6.0 apg, and 2.0 spg. He shot .514 (18-35) from the field and .409 (9-22) from behind the arc.

In his top game of the week, Quisenberry scored a season-high 36 points, shooting 6-for-13 from long range, and added five rebounds, four assists, and three steals in a 69-66 home loss to first place Davidson on Saturday afternoon. The 36 points are the most scored by an A-10 player this year and the most by a Ram since Andre McClendon also netted 36 against Holy Cross in 1990.

Quisenberry, who is Fordham’s first Atlantic 10 Player of the Week since Javontae Hawkins in 2017, started the week by scoring 23 points and adding five rebounds, eight assists and one steal in a loss to Richmond in the Rose Hill Gym.

On the year, Quisenberry leads the Atlantic 10 in scoring, averaging 17.9 ppg. He is also averaging 4.3 rpg and has 36 assists and 23 steals.

The Rams return to action on Tuesday night, January 25, as they travel to Dayton, Ohio, for an Atlantic 10 contest with the University of Dayton at 7:00 p.m.
