Hofstra Returns To The Court At James Madison on Sunday

The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team will get back on the court for the first time since December 29 when the Pride heads to James Madison for a Colonial Athletic Association encounter. 

Tip-off from the Atlantic Union Bank Center in Harrisonburg, Virginia is slated for 4 p.m. 

The game will air on FloHoops and WRHU will have an audio-only broadcast on the HAWC. Links to both broadcasts, as well as the live statistics, can be found on this page and on the men’s basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com. 

Hofstra is 8-6 overall and 0-1 in conference play and last was in action on December 29 when it dropped a narrow one-point decision at William & Mary. 

Graduate student Zach Cooks leads the way for Hofstra in scoring at 16.1 points per outing. He is joined in double figures by graduate student Jalen Ray (15.4 ppg), junior Aaron Estrada (13.9 ppg)Darlinstone Dubar (12.7 ppg), and senior Omar Silverio (11.8 ppg). Redshirt senior Abayomi Iyiola is tops on the team in rebounding at 8.7 rebounds per game and is also averaging 8.2 points per game. Estrada leads the way with 4.8 assists per contest. 

James Madison has yet to play a conference game and sits at 9-2 overall. The Dukes last played on December 11 when they defeated Radford. 

Takai Molson leads James Madison in scoring at 11.2 points per game, while Vado Morse (10.6 ppg) and Charles Falden (10.2 ppg) are also averaging double figures. 

Hofstra leads the all-time series with James Madison, 22-15, with all the meetings occurring since the programs became conference rivals in 2001-02. The Dukes won a pair of narrow contests a season ago, but prior to that the Pride had won three straight and seven of the previous eight meetings.
