Hofstra junior Aaron Estrada added another player of the week award today as he was named the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Player of the Week, it was announced this morning.
Estrada was also named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week on Monday.
This marks Estrada’s fourth weekly award of the season already as he was the CAA Player of the Week on December 6 and the MBWA Player of the Week on December 7.
A 6-3 junior guard from Woodbury, NJ, Estrada flirted with a triple-double on the road as the Pride (7-5) in their only game of the week upended then No. 24-ranked Arkansas 89-81 in Little Rock last Saturday night.
Estrada produced a game-high 22 points, a career-high 10 rebounds and a game-high eight assists as Hofstra stunned the Razorbacks and their fans. In registering the first double-double of his career, he played nearly 35 minutes and drilled 7-of-12 shots from the field along with nailing 8-of-8 at the free throw line.
