The Washington Spirit have announced roster statuses for each of the club’s players following the completion of the 2021 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season and ahead of the 2022 NWSL Expansion Draft featuring Angel City FC and San Diego Wave FC, which will take place on Dec. 16, 2021.
The Spirit have exercised the options of three players. This includes Camryn Biegalski, Devon Kerr, and Karina Rodriguez.
They will join 19 players who are already under contract for 2022. That list includes four 2021 NWSL Draft picks in Tara McKeown, Trinity Rodman, Anna Heilferty and Sydney Schneider. USWNT stars Emily Sonnett and Andi Sullivan signed deals with the club earlier this year that will begin at the beginning of 2022 with the conclusion of their US allocated contracts. 2021 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year Aubrey Bledsoe also signed a new deal with the club that will keep her here through the end of the 2023 season. Another player that signed a multi-year deal in 2021 was Ashley Sanchez, with her deal keeping her in Washington through 2024. The remaining players are under contract with the club through at least the end of the 2022 season: Dorian Bailey, Averie Collins, Jordan DiBiasi, Bayley Feist, Ashley Hatch, Tori Huster, Paige Nielsen, Julia Roddar, Sam Staab, Saori Takara, and Kumi Yokoyama.
Also remaining on the Spirit’s roster is allocated United States Women’s National Team player Kelley O’Hara.
The Spirit have extended new contract offers to Morgan Goff and Taylor Aylmer.
