Following a short break for the Thanksgiving holiday, the Hofstra men’s basketball team will return to action on Saturday when it hosts Detroit Mercy.
Tip-off from the Mack Sports Complex is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at HofstraTickets.com, by calling (516) HOF-TIXX, or by visiting the Hofstra Athletic Ticket Office in the lobby of the Mack Sports Complex during normal business hours.

Hofstra is 2-4 through six games this season that has seen the Pride open the year with five consecutive road games. On Wednesday, Hofstra began its home slate in style with a dominating 87-49 win over Molloy behind 20 points from graduate student Jalen Ray and 12 points and 10 rebounds from redshirt sophomore Kvonn Cramer. Sophomore guard Darlinstone Dubar added 11 points and 12 rebounds giving the Pride two players with double-doubles for the first time since December 10, 2019 when Tareq Coburn (10p/12r) and Eli Pemberton (15p/10r) achieved the feat against Stony Brook.
Graduate student Zach Cooks is tops on the Pride with 18.5 points per outing, while Ray (15.3 ppg), Dubar (12.7), and junior Aaron Estrada (11.7 ppg) follow closely behind. Dubar is also averaging 7.3 rebounds per game while junior Caleb Burgess has a team-best 24 assists this season.
Similar to Hofstra, this will be the fifth straight road game to open the season for Detroit Mercy. The Titans are coming off a pair of losses to Mississippi State and Louisville, The loss to Louisville on Saturday was a six-point defeat with Antoine Davis scoring 27 points for the Titans.
Davis leads Detroit Mercy in scoring with 20.0 points per game, while Madut Akec is second with 14.5 points and leads the team with 8.8 rebounds per outing. Kevin McAdoo Jr. is third on the team with 10.8 points per game.
This is the first-ever meeting between Hofstra and Detroit Mercy.
